Adding songs to iPod shuffle (3rd generation)
You can set up iTunes to automatically update the music on your iPod shuffle when you connect your iPod shuffle to your computer.
If you want to use your iPod shuffle with more than one computer, or if your iTunes library contains more music than your iPod shuffle can hold, you can choose to manage your music manually.
You can also add songs with a single click by using Autofill.
These instructions are for iPod shuffle (3rd generation) only. For iPod shuffle (1st or 2nd generation), see:
To sync music to your iPod shuffle automatically:

Connect your iPod shuffle to your computer.

In iTunes, select iPod shuffle (below Devices), and then click the Music tab.

Select “Sync music.â€

Select “All songs and playlists,†or select “Selected playlists†and then select the playlists you want to sync.
To fill any remaining space on your iPod shuffle with songs that go great with the ones you’re adding, select “Fill free space with Genius song selections.â€

Click the Sync button.
To add songs to your iPod shuffle manually:

Connect your iPod shuffle to your computer.

In iTunes, select iPod shuffle (below Devices), and then select “Manually manage music†in the Summary pane.

Select Music (below Library) or select a playlist.

Drag the songs you want to add to your iPod shuffle in the list of devices.
To add songs to your iPod shuffle using Autofill:

Select Music (below your iPod shuffle in the list of devices).

To add songs automatically from your library or a playlist, choose Music or a playlist from the “Autofill from†pop-up menu.

Click Autofill.
You can also add songs to your iPod shuffle manually and then have iTunes automatically fill the remaining space. Click Settings, deselect “Replace all items when Autofilling,†click OK, and then click Autofill.
Note:Autofill is available only if you have selected “Manually manage songs†in the Summary pane.
